Chesterton Windmill
I posted previous shots of this location last year but revisited over the holiday period and captured this image from the road, to take in the path in the field leading up the Windmill.

Dramatic!!!
Thanks, just got back to the car before the rain fell.
That’s an interesting looking windmill Adrian. Is it some sort of water tower and the sails are used to pump the water? Very nice photo.
Nope, it was actually used to grind corn. I just looked it up. It’s an unusual looking mill. I guess it was used to grind the corn from the surrounding fields.
Thanks.
Great composition and processing !!! Well done !!!
Thanks Pawel
Love the curved road/path Adrian that runs along behind the windmill, nice compo.
Thanks Angel, deliberately composed that way as it was such a strong line.
Beautiful picture, Adrian! The curve of that track entering from bottom right takes my eye straight to the windmill, which you’ve placed ideally in the composition. And then there’s the paler tone of the far off countryside, that gives some depth. And that angry sky really helps the image too. Adrian
Cheers Adrian. This is quite a well photographed (and painted – see my recent retweet) location and I wanted to get something slightly different to the “iconic” shot.
