Horizon
Falmouth 01.011.2012
I know, very lazy BUT on reflection I don’t think the yacht looked right in the previous post so I have removed it. Â I think the image is now stronger – what do you think?
How many people read this far might be a better question!

I think it’s a beautiful and powerful photograph, Adrian…well done.
Thanks Scott
You’re welcome.
I read this far.. 🙂 I have to say Adrian I think I prefer the picture with the yacht. For me it provides a strong focal point but then I love boats so I guess I’m biased.
I should say I like both pictures mind you. As Scott said, a powerful photo.
Thanks Chillbrook. I didn’t like the way I had processed the yacht as I could see the photoshop artifacts on my screen. If you look in full screen or close up the image was obviously photoshop’d.
I see what you mean. You did a good job of removing it. Not something I’ve tried to do.
Only looking on my phone you understand, but I think the shot’s too heavy. Might look different on the computer…
Looks much better on a 24in Mac!!
Aha…..too right, I skipped the boat……but this is very intense…less is certainly more………..a sense of mystery……….the meaning of life …. 🙂
Thanks John
I like it without the boat…more drama to the shot.
Thanks
I read this far! 😉 I like this one better than the one with the boat. The sea and the sky and the lighting are powerful enough on their own. 🙂
Thanks – Horizon seems to be getting the most votes
Powerful shot! But not the day for a swim I don’t think.
I agree, no time for swimming.
PS I thought the yacht was too distracting – too central and too fiddly and stark.
Exactly my view after posting it, hence Horizon post.
for me two photos are good but also agree that this one is more powerful 😉
It would appear the drug runners and their boat were blown up…
Interesting point of view and historically accurate – Cornwall was notorious for smugglers a couple of centuries ago. Who blew the yacht up Mike, DEA, CIA FBI TLA?
It was your man Bond, James Bond.
Ah! How’s your man Felix?
Ah….a bond aficionado, eh? I remember taking a bus into Manhattan when I was just a teenager to see the real James Bond……Sean Connery. He really rocked. Danial Craig is quite good too. Both fine blokes imo.
I have probably seen them all, and many more than once, but not the latest yet, so must sort that out soon.
very interesting from an observation point of view – your recent images are really quiet dark – the yacht is also interesting, now you see it then you don’t – personally I liked the yacht but would have preferred the crop to place the yacht off centre and fully against the water which would offer some contrast in the water – but hell it is so subjective – thoughts Adrian
The picture was always about the horizon and the yacht was incidental, which is why it didn’t work for me originally.
Yes the light around the horizon is very powerful – would also be interesting to see as a landscape – I do love exploring images
Might have a look at a landscape version later Scott
I like this one which unusual for me because its dark and dangerous…but much more dramatic without the yacht. 🙂
I agree, thanks Sallyann
Both images are great but I like this one more!
You’re in the majority, thanks again Niki
