Now St-Ives is usually in colour because of the lovely colour of the water – why is it different in St-Ives. Artists say the light is different there. We enjoyed our visit there a few years ago. Black and white gives it a whole different feel.
The clouds are impressive! They look as though they don’t belong (especially in the 2nd photograph), as though they were Photoshopped in, but they aren’t. Great beach line in the 1st, leading me through the composition and to the clouds.

Very nice. I like St Ives, its only drawback is it popularity. The skies are great.
Thanks. It was VERY busy that day! Typical British summer day – heavy clouds, some sun and warm-ish!
I don’t think there’s room for one more boat in that cove. Love the clouds, so dramtic!
Thanks Elisa.

It does look god in colour Lynne, but I’m just a mono junkie at the moment.
Really nice shots Adrian.
Thanks Mike.
As you were, VPLDW.
That’s GVPOPLDW
(Global Vice President of Portals, Legion of Door Whores)
A thought: is the Vice President the President responsible for Vice?
Perhaps I need a proper job description!
Yes Adrian, that is precisely why I charged you with consideration of harlots and other ladies. Portal on!
😉
Those clouds look like they’re bringing some serious rain Adrian. Love the motion-feel to the shot.
Thank you
Beautiful shots and I love that cloudy backdrop. Is it always that crowded or was there some event going on?
Thanks Christina. This shot was teken in August and its always that busy!
the ominous look of the clouds explains why all the boats look empty – photos exude doom and gloom!
You get a totally different feel in colour!
Amazing… looks like a scene of an invasion 🙂
An invasion of tourists!

Thank you Steven. I used Nik SEP for the conversion to mono, but the sky is real, as you say.
Argh these shots bring back some great memories. Love the B&W
