According to Wikipedia: Marmite is made from yeast extract, a by-product of beer brewing.
The British version of the product is a sticky, dark brown paste with a distinctive, powerful flavour, which is extremely salty and savoury. This distinctive taste is reflected in the British company’s marketing slogan: “Love it or hate it.”

Love it! (although I just realized that I don’t know what Marmite is… )

I love it!
I think I do remember references to this product over the years, and it’s probably for the “distinctive palate.” Have you ever tried it?
I have tried it and am firmly in the “Love It” camp.
Hmmmm….. same attitude as with Spam.
What do you do with this? Does it go on toast with proper English tea?
On toast is good. Don’t drink tea so can’t comment on that combination.
